Mediation Voucher Scheme – funding available

Wace Morgan are pleased to confirm participation in a new Government Family Mediation Voucher Scheme.

The government announced on 26 March 2021 that it is investing £1m in family mediation. Funding will be available to support families to resolve issues relating to children following parental separation. Under the scheme, the Ministry of Justice will provide contributions of up to £500 per family.

Mediation is a process whereby an independent trained professional assists a separating couple to agree arrangements for their family. Sessions will be provided by Family Mediation Council Accredited (FMCA) mediators and the mediation voucher scheme will reduce the costs of mediation for at least 2000 families.

This has the benefits of speed, the parties maintain control and is more cost-effective than the court process.

Local family mediator Esther Evans FMCA, from Wace Morgan said, “this will be of real help to families who wish to agree arrangements for their children in a conciliatory way for the benefit of the whole family.”
