Legal Cashier
Due to continued growth, Wace Morgan Solicitors are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Legal Cashier to join our busy Accounts Team.
The ideal candidate will work within a team who are responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the firm, ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules, and providing accurate financial information to support the firm’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing client and office accounts, ensuring all transactions comply with SRA Accounts Rules.
- Processing client and office receipts, payments, and transfers.
- Performing daily bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and posting nominal ledger entries.
- Monitoring and managing client account balances and ensuring prompt action is taken on matters requiring attention.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Liaising with clients and fee earners regarding financial queries.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Supporting the Finance Director with ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
- Proficiency in legal accounting software (e.g., SOS, Proclaim, or similar).
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A high level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- AAT or ILFM qualifications are desirable but not essential.
