Alastair Brierley

Solicitor

Alastair Brierley

A Northwich boy, Alastair studied law at Jesus College, Cambridge, graduating with a first class honours degree. Articled in Manchester, he taught part-time at Manchester Polytechnic before qualifying as a solicitor in 1987. After working in Chester, Alastair lectured in law at Aberystwyth and Bristol universities before arriving in Shropshire in 1994. He worked at Garrard Mitchell and became a partner in Turnbull Garrard, where he had a wide-ranging practice but a specialism in wills, trusts and personal tax. He joined Wace Morgan in 2019, where he assists his younger- and vastly more technologically able!- colleagues.

Outside of work, Alastair is involved with All Saints, Catlefields, where he acts as a server. He rings church bells, plays bridge and is fond of visiting real ale hostelries, particularly in Wales, whose language he has, with limited success, endeavoured to learn.

“I was pleased to work with a competent communicator who understands and respects my need and was very helpful in making me understand with clear language what I needed to know.”
