Legal Aid Agency experiences cyber attack

  • Posted

As some may be aware from recent news reports the Legal Aid Agency’s (LAA) IT systems have been subject to a cyber attack.

The LAA continues to investigate and manage the incident and for those concerned about the situation you can find further information at https://www.gov.uk/government/news/legal-aid-agency-data-breach

We are cooperating with the advice given to us by the LAA and confirm that Wace Morgan’s systems have not been compromised.

The Legal Aid Agency have provided this advice to service users:

“We would urge all members of the public who have applied for legal aid in this time period to take steps to safeguard themselves. We would recommend you are alert for any suspicious activity such as unknown messages or phone calls and to be extra vigilant to update any potentially exposed passwords. If you are in doubt about anyone you are communicating with online or over the phone you should verify their identity independently before providing any information to them.” – Legal Aid Agency advice, May 2025

Please direct any concerns to the Legal Aid Agency.
