Dementia Awareness Week 18-24th May 2014

Dementia is a serious and progressive disease that leads to memory loss and communication problems, often making life confusing. So to help sufferers and their families many organisations will be taking part in Dementia Awareness Week during 18-24 May 2014.

As part of this initiative a specialist department within local legal firm Wace Morgan are raising awareness of important issues such as Powers of Attorney, Advance Decisions, Wills and funding of long term care.

Liz Holdsworth of Wace Morgan’s Shrewsbury elderly care team, who is also Regional Coordinator for Solicitors for the Elderly in Shropshire, is taking part in activities during Dementia Awareness Week.

She comments: “It is tragic that we often see families where no preparation has taken place, leaving them unable to make decisions for their loved ones, whether in regard to their finances or health.

“We have a very experienced and friendly team of experts who can offer reassurance to people that they have done all they can to assist their families and to protect their assets,” she stressed.
