Specialist lawyer strengthens links with Charity

A specialist Shropshire lawyer has strengthened his links with a leading brain injury charity.

Jeremy Taylor, who heads the personal injury department at Wace Morgan Solicitors of Shrewsbury, has been re-accredited to join the panel of lawyers working with Headway Shropshire.

The charity supports local people who have experienced head and brain injury and Mr Taylor has wide experience of this area of the law.

“I have just been re-accredited to join the Headway solicitors panel, which means that I am on hand to give legal advice about this specialist area,” he said.

Headway Shropshire is the local branch of a national organisation. Based on Oxon Business Park, it has expanded its facilities recently to offer a rehabilitation and re-ablement centre and now also provides a ‘support at home’ service.

Mr Taylor added: “Each year about 100 residents in Shropshire will have a head injury because of an accident, a fall, or an assault. Young people are particularly at risk. Many others will have strokes, surgery or illnesses so the work we do with Headway is vital.

“The number of people who survive a severe brain injury is rising dramatically, mainly because of medical advances. All these people will need a great deal of support, as will their families and carers, as most of them will never make a full recovery.

“Even minor brain injury, causing slight concussion, can have serious long-term effects. Brain injury can have a devastating effect on people’s lives, their work and their relationships with family and friends so getting the correct legal advice is of paramount importance.”
